Mrs. Stella Sue Jackson, age 91, of Anthony Drive in Sandersville, passed away on September 18, 2025, at her son’s residence. A funeral service to celebrate her life will be held on Sunday, September 21, 2025, at 3:00 p.m. at Bethlehem Baptist Church in Warthen. Reverend Tim Powell and Reverend Bryce Jeffcoat will officiate, and pallbearers will be Josh Jackson, Hunter Jackson, Christopher Wiggins, Mac McCall, Cole Jackson, Z.J. Scott and Jay McCall. The family will receive friends on Sunday, September 21, 2025, from 2:00 p.m. until the hour of service at the church.

Mrs. Jackson was born in Warthen, the daughter of the late Albert A. Sargent and the late Virgie Mae Swint Sargent. She attended Georgia State College for Women and had several jobs over the years, ending her working career as a bookkeeper for Theile Kaolin. Mrs. Jackson was very involved in her community and was a member of Daughter of the American Revolution, Pilot Club, Colonial Dames, Warthen Community Club, and helping with the billing for the Warthen Water Department. She was a talented lady and enjoyed painting as well as playing piano. In her spare time Mrs. Jackson also had a knack for playing Mahjong. She was an avid Georgia Bulldogs fan and always supported her children and grandchildren in all their sporting endeavors. Mrs. Jackson’s greatest enjoyment in life was spending time with her family. She was a member of Bethlehem Baptist Church, where she served for many years as church treasurer. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Joshua Pierce “Jack” Jackson; and sister, Bertie Mae McDonald.

Mrs. Jackson is survived by her sons, Sonny Jackson (Teresa) of Sandersville, Mike Jackson (Pam ) of Tennille, and Rick Jackson, Sr., also of Sandersville; grandchildren, Angie McCall, Josh Jackson, Mackenzie Parker, and Rick Jackson, Jr.; great grandchildren, Nicki Wiggins, Hunter Jackson, Christopher Wiggins, Jalin McCall, Mac McCall, Melody Parker, Violet Parker, Cole Jackson, Logan Jackson, and Z.J. Scott; and many nieces and nephews.

The family suggests donations be made in Mrs. Jackson’s memory to Bethlehem Baptist Church, P.O. Box 85, Warthen, GA 31094.
