Steve Chapman

Mr. Steve Chapman, age 71 of Tennille passed away on Friday, May 13, 2022 at his home following an extended illness. A graveside service to celebrate his life will be held on Tuesday, May 17, 2022 at 3:00 p.m. in Zeta Cemetery in Tennille. Reverend Gary Griffin will officiate.

Steve was the son of the late Roger S. Chapman and the late Marie Hattaway Chapman. He was a graduate of Washington County High School and a member of Piney Mount United Methodist Church. Steve endured a difficult life with Ichthyosis, a diagnosis he had from birth, but he never allowed that to get him down. He had a tremendous work ethic, working over 40 years as a lab technician for KT Clay. Steve was also musically inclined, he enjoyed playing the guitar and writing gospel songs. He was a very giving person with a big heart. Steve was an avid Georgia Tech Yellow Jacket fan.

Steve is survived by his sisters, Gail Keyser and her husband Kenneth of Mitchell, and Dianne Whiddon and her husband Chuck of Tennille; nieces, Lisa Inglett and her husband Randy, Sharon Atkinson and her husband Steven, Tonia Ellis and her husband Ricky and Tara Clanahan and her husband Greg; nephew, Chris Lindsey and his wife Missi; 5 great nieces; 9 great nephews; 4 great-great nieces; and 3 great-great nephews.

The family will receive friends on Monday, May 16, 2022, from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at the home of Dianne and Chuck Whiddon, 558 Mt. Gilead Road, Tennille, GA 31089.
