Mr. Stewart Roswell Helton, age 49, of Sandersville died on Saturday, December 20, 2014.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Wednesday, December 24th, in the First Christian Church of Sandersville. The Reverend Doug Ivey will officiate.
Burial will be private.
Mr. Helton was the son of the late Dr. William Stacer Helton, Sr. and was preceded in death by a brother, Douglas Scott Helton. He was a certified welder. He was an avid outdoorsman whose claim to fame was homemade dill pickles with his specialty hot peppers which he also loved to use on the rim of his brothers' drinking glasses or toothbrush.
He spread laughter from Costa Rica to Canada with his wit and charm. He left his mark in this world through the lives of those he touched. He loved his family and friends and would give you the shirt off his back. He will always be remembered for his tenderness and compassion.
Survivors are his mother, Evelyn Milliken Helton of Sandersville; and his brothers, Stacer Helton and his wife Pam of Sandersville and Michael Shea Helton of Sandersville.
The family will receive friends at the First Christian Church social hall from 10:00 A.M. on Wednesday until the hour of service.
The family suggests that in lieu of flowers memorial be made to the First Love Kids Inc., c/o Wright and Wright, P. O. Box 1014, Sandersville, Georgia 31082 or Washington County Young Sportsman Foundation, 90 Club Forest Drive, Tennille, Georgia 31089 or the Georgia Rural Medical Scholar Program, P. O. Box 881, Sandersville, Georgia 31082.
