Susan Thigpen Mcdonald

Mrs. Susan Thigpen McDonald, age 62, of Harrison, died Sunday, April 24, 2016. A graveside funeral service will be held on Wednesday, April 27th, at 11:00 a.m. in the Zeta Cemetery in Tennille. Reverend Ron Bracewell will officiate.

Susan was born in Bibb County and reared in Warner Robins where she graduated from Northside High School. She was a Washington County resident for many years and she was a homemaker. Susan enjoyed a great love of sewing and sharing her gifts through children’s clothes, stuffed animals, and quilting. She also possessed a passion for children, formerly working for the Washington County Head Start and the Washington County Youth Development Center. Susan was a lover of animals, especially her cats.

Survivors are: her husband, Steve McDonald of Harrison; children, Veronica June Taylor “Junie” and her husband Randy of Warner Robins; and Jonathan Christopher Wayne McDonald and his fiancé Aquila of Harrison; grandchildren, Brooke Taylor, Benjamin Taylor, and Brantley Taylor; her parents, Wayne and June Garrard Thigpen of Sandersville; and her brothers, Wayne Garrard Thigpen and his wife Lois of Columbus IN, and Richard Harrison Thigpen and his wife Joann of Sandersville.

The family will receive friends following the graveside service on Wednesday.
