Thelma Raymond Jackson

Mrs. Thelma Kathryn Raymond Essig Jackson, age 98, of Sandersville, died Sunday, July 29, 2012, at her residence. Funeral services will be held on Friday, August 3rd at 2:00pm at the May and Smith Funeral Home Chapel with burial in the New Bethel Baptist Church Cemetery. The Rev. Bill Moody will officiate. Pallbearers will be her grandsons Albert “Al” Brynteson, Jr., William “Bill” Brynteson and her great-grandsons Steven Schwartz, James Jezewski, Azia Brynteson, Europe Brynteson and Matthew Brynteson.

Mrs. Jackson was born in Palmyra NJ, the daughter of the late Austin Raymond and the late Kathryn Stoer Raymond. She was a homemaker and member of the New Bethel Baptist Church near Riddleville. She regularly attended the Tennille Christian Church until her health failed. She loved to read and treasured her weekends with grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Mrs. Jackson is predeceased by her husbands, Albert Essig and William Grady Jackson; her sisters, Louise Raymond and Marion Raymond; brothers, Albert “Kip” Raymond and John “Bud” Raymond; stepdaughter, Naomi Jackson Daniel; step-granddaughter, Melonie Daniel Chapman and her great-grandson, Dennis Schwartz.

Survivors include her daughter, Lois (Albert) Brynteson of Sandersville; four grandchildren, Albert “Al” Brynteson Jr., of Cadwell, Carolyn Brown Wellons of Miami FL, William “Bill” (Debra) Brynteson and Jeannie (Donald) Jezewski all of Sandersville; step-grandchildren, Barry (Shirley) Daniel and Kim (Jeff) Metarko all of Atlanta; twenty one great-grandchildren; fourteen great-great grandchildren; her sister, Marge Bennett of North Carolina; numerous nieces and nephews and three dear friends, Molly and Allen Wood of Riddleville and Kay Shelton of Warthen.

The family will be at the Brynteson residence, 77 Tuskawillow Lane, in Sandersville and they will receive friends on Friday one hour prior to the funeral service at the funeral home.
