Thelma Lucille Moore Howell

Mrs. Thelma Lucille Moore Howell, age 70, of Statesboro, died Thursday, February 02, 2012 following an extended illness. Funeral services will be held on Saturday at 2:00pm at the Deepstep United Methodist Church with burial in the Church Cemetery. Rev. Larry Giles will officiate.

Mrs. Howell was born in Sandersville and grew up in Deepstep the daughter of the late Francil A. Moore and the late Thelma Veal Moore. She loved music and studied piano under the late Frank Marynell of Sandersville. She worked for many years for Morrison’s Cafeterias in Atlanta until she married Mr. Bob Howell. They moved to Statesboro where she lived until her death. Lucille kept her mother’s piano, which she loved to play, and kept every record possible of her favorite singer, Elvis Presley.

Survivors are her husband Robert “Bob” Eugene Howell of Statesboro, a brother Dr. Willis H. Moore and sister-in-law Paige D. Moore of Tucker, nieces Melanie Moore of Austin TX and Jennifer Moore of Atlanta, grandnephew and grandniece Zachary Keung and Katherine Keung, aunt Neva Veal of Deepstep and a number of cousins.

The family will receive friends at the Deepstep UMC Saturday from 1pm until the hour of service.
