Mr. Thomas Lamar Blue, age 88, of Davisboro died Saturday, January 23, 2016, in the Jefferson County Hospital in Louisville.
Funeral services for Mr. Blue will be held at 2:00 P. M. Tuesday, January 26, in the May and Smith Funeral Home Chapel in Sandersville with burial in the Washington County Memorial Gardens Cemetery. Reverend Larry Glover will officiate.
Pallbearers will be Stanley Barfield, Glen Garner, Glen Brantley, Doug Watkins, Jimmy Hitchcock and Joel Cochran.
Mr. Blue was a native and lifelong resident of Washington County, the son of the late Thomas Peoples Blue and the late Susie Doolittle Blue. He was the husband of the late Frances Todd Blue and was preceded in death by his son, Jeff Blue and his daughter, Janet Blue Strickland. Mr. Blue was a retired heavy equipment operator. He was a member of the Tabernacle United Methodist Church.
Survivors are: his daughter, Susan Blue Starley of Milledgeville; three sons, David Blue and his wife Vicki of Tennille, Mike Blue and his wife Judy of Tennille and Scott Blue of Davisboro; son in law, Franklin Strickland of Tennille; fourteen grandchildren; and sixteen great grandchildren; two sisters, Hattie Dietrick of Augusta and Annie Sue Beasley of North Augusta.
The family will receive friends at May and Smith Funeral Home from 5:00 until 7:00 P.M. on Monday.
May and Smith Funeral Directors in Sandersville is in charge of the arrangements.
