Thomas Franklin Buckholts

Mr. Thomas Franklin Buckholts, age 73, of Tennille, died Saturday, April 30, 2016. A casual celebration of Tom’s life will be held Thursday, May 12th at 7:00 p.m. at the Buckholts residence 1455 Wommack – Brantley Road south of Tennille.

Tom was born and raised in Miami Florida the son of the late Jesse J. Buckholts and the late Ruth Jones Buckholts. He served in the US Army in the 101st Airborne during Vietnam. He was a former heavy equipment operator prior to beginning a career in the grocery business. Tom moved his family to Sandersville from Nashville TN to open the local Winn Dixie and continued in that industry working for Bi-Lo, Food Lyon and Harveys. He was also the former owner of Buckholts transport.

Survivors are: his wife Adrienne Hansen Buckholts of Tennille, children, Tina B. Garner of Sandersville, Tommy Buckholts of Swainsboro, Willy Buckholts of Sandersville and Robert Buckholts and his wife Amanda of Tennille, grandchildren, Malcom Profitt, Joshua Profitt, John Garner, Holly Garner, Blake Buckholts, Megan Buckholts, Kayla Brown, Jessica Bartlett, and Emma Buckholts, and great grandchildren, Isabella Garner, Nicholas Garner, and Tremere Watson.
