Thomas B. Franklin Jr., 96, of Fort Myers, Florida died May 22, 2015 at Shell Point Hospice Pavilion in Fort Myers. He was born November 18, 1918 in Sandersville, GA son of Thomas B. and Minnie Lee (Cox) Franklin. His siblings include Tommie Lee, Louise (Remelsberger), Sam and Charles.
He graduated from Dahlonega College and was married to Ruby Chester of Wrightsville GA for 64 years until her death in 2004. Tom served in the U.S. Navy aboard the aircraft carrier U.S.S. Bon Homme Richard during World War ll. Upon leaving the service he was employed as a machinist by Union Carbide in Niagara Falls, NY until his retirement. He was a member of Masonic Lodge #132 where he was a past Master. Being a devoted father and husband he enjoyed all sports and loved to play golf and bowl.
Surviving are his three sons: Thomas lll (Marie), Charles (Jill), Dan Sr. (Donna); four grandchildren: Jennifer Tamburello (Franklin), Thomas lV, Dan Jr., and Adam; four great grandchildren: Peyton, Emily, Kaia and Gavyn; also numerous nieces and nephews.
