Thomas Eugene Veal, Sr.

Mr. Thomas Eugene Veal, Sr. , age 90, of 108 Richmond Street in Sandersville died Tuesday morning July 14 in the Washington Regional Medical Center in Sandersville following a brief illness.
Graveside funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.MN. Thursday July 16 in the Brownwood Cemetery in Sandersville. The Rev. Paul Melton and Rev. Dale Andrews will officiate.

Mr. Veal was a native and life long resident of Washington County, the son of the late Bascom Marvin Veal and the late Essie Hodges Veal. He was the husband of the late Lora Mable Frazier Veal. Mr. Veal was a retired Captain of the Sandersville Fire Department. He was a Army veteran of World War II and a Purple Heart recipient. He was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars and a member of the American Veterans Association.

Survivors are his children, Sandy (Mary Kaye) Veal of Tennille, Jay (Annette) Veal of North Augusta, S.C., Joey (Robyn) Veal of Evans and Thomas E. (Nonie) Veal of Sandersville, a sister, Mae Veal Blair of Valdosta, grandchildren, Tom Veal, Andrea “Cissy” Veal Duncan, Noel Veal, Samuel B. Veal, Jennifer Veal, Rachel Veal, Joseph Blaine Veal, Clayton Veal, Jamey Wombles and Andy Johnson, great grandchildren, Daulton Veal, Rebecca Duncan, Corbett Duncan and Lora Grace Duncan.

The family will receive friends at May and Smith Funeral Home from 6:00 until 8:00 P.M. on Wednesday evening. The family suggest that donations be made to the American Cancer Society, P. 632, Sandersville, Georgia 31082
