Mr. Thomas “Tommy” William Brown, age 69, of Harrison, GA, departed this life on December 9, 2024, following a courageous battle with cancer. A funeral service to celebrate his life will be held on Friday, December 13, 2024 at 2:00 P.M., New Bethel Baptist Church in Riddleville, GA with burial to follow in New Bethel Baptist Church Cemetery.  Reverend Marty Deal and Reverend Wade Dawson will officiate. Pallbearers will be Chris Brown, Tony Brown, Patrick Brown, Russell Brown, Tim Brown, Randy Jackson and Chase Lindsey. The family will be at the residence of Chad and Amanda Logue in Harrison and will receive friends on Thursday, December 12th  from 4:00 to 6:00 P.M. at New Bethel Baptist Church.

Mr. Brown was born on August 9, 1955, in Columbia, South Carolina, the youngest child of Charlie Lloyd and Florie Davis Brown. He moved to Warthen, Georgia in 1985 to join his brother in the construction business, later starting his own construction company in 1989. He would go on to build and remodel many homes and churches throughout Washington and surrounding counties. Tommy owned and operated several discount stores over the years, T & M Sales in Riddleville, Odds n’ Endz, in Wrens and Tennille and Georgia Trader in Sandersville. After retirement, he opened Helping Hands Thrift Store in Sandersville. He was a kind person with a big heart, who was always willing to help others. Tommy loved animals and going to the beach. In his spare time, he enjoyed fishing and collecting old coins, old bottles, tools and other artifacts. Mr. Brown was a member of New Bethel Baptist Church.

Mr. Brown is predeceased by his parents, his brother, Osbourne Brown and sisters, Rebecca Outlaw and Ernestine Brown and his beloved dog, Bella. Mr. Brown is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Amanda and Chad Logue of Harrison, GA; grandson, Justin Logue of South Daytona Beach, FL; granddaughter, Gabe Copeland and her husband, Paul, and great grandchildren, Kadyn Copeland, Natalie Copeland and Zane Copeland, all of Harrison, GA. He is also survived by brothers R.D. Brown (Edith) of Warthen, GA and Charlie Brown (Annette) of Pringle, GA; sisters, Betty Bass of Columbia, SC and Patsy Johnson of South Carolina, as well as many, many nieces, nephews and friends, caregivers Connie Johnson and Kellie Logue, his dog, Fergie and best friend, Betty Grimes Reece.
