Tommy Neal Johnikin

Mr. Tommy Neal Johnikin, age 64, of Sandersville died on Saturday October 8 at his residence. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Tuesday October 11 in the Mt. Gilead Primitive Baptist Church with burial in the church cemetery. Elder Kenneth Brantley will officiate. Pallbearers will be Charles Blue, Jimmy Prince, Hillary Burgamy, Louie Waller, Jonathan Brantley and Johnnie Davis.

Mr. Johnikin was a native of Richmond County, Georgia, the son of the late Lonnie P. Johnikin and the late Lois James Johnikin. He had resided in Washington County for many years and was a retired mechanic for Thiele Kaolin Company. He was a member and Deacon of the Mt.Gilead Primitive Baptist Church and a member of the Cushman Club.

Survivors are his wife, Jeannette Norris Johnikin of Sandersville, a daughter, Robyn Johnikin Whipp and her husband Shannon of Nashville, TN, three grandchildren, Jason Whipp, Nathanael Whipp and Jeremiah Whipp,two brothers John Johnikin of Augusta and Jimmie Johnikin of Nashville, Ga., three sisters, Minnie Grooms of Rocky Ford, Shirley Reynolds and Amy McDonald both of Augusta.

The family will receive friends at May and Smith Funeral Home in Sandersville from 6:00 until 8:00 P.M. on Monday.
