Tommy Eugene Knowles, Sr.

Mr. Tommy Eugene Knowles, Sr., age 75, of Sandersville died Tuesday March 25, 2014 in the Serenity Hospice in Dublin following an extended illness. Graveside funeral services will be held at 3:00 P.M. Thursday, March 27 ^th , in the Zeta Cemetery in Tennille. The Rev. Roy Smith will officiate.

Mr. Knowles was a native of Randolph County, Georgia, the son of the late Albert M. Knowles and the late Sara Mae Glass Knowles. He was the husband of the late Shirley Jean Jones Knowles. Mr. Knowles was a retired auto mechanic for Childre Ford Company. He was a member of the Bethany Baptist Church. Mr. Knowles was an Army veteran of the Korean Conflict.

Survivors are his children, Debbie Withee of Corona California, Bobby Knowles and his wife Charla of East Dublin, Ricky Knowles and his wife Amanda of Tennille, Tommy Knowles, Jr. of Tennille, Andy Knowles and his wife Cathy of Sandersville, John Knowles of Tennille and Susan Porter and her husband Ed of Harrison; twenty-six grandchildren; eighteen great- grandchildren; and a brother, Fred Knowles of Leesburg.

The family will receive friends at May and Smith Funeral Home in Sandersville from 5:00 until 7:00 P.M. on Wednesday.
