Tommy C. Norwood, Sr.

Mr. Tommy Curtis Norwood, Sr., age 58, of Hwy. 88, Sandersville, died Wednesday, October 17, 2012. Funeral services will be held on Sunday, October 21st, at 2:00pm at the May and Smith Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Robert Wood officiating.

Mr. Norwood was born in Orlando FL, the son of the late James Garfield Norwood and the late Mable Louise Lewis Norwood. Tommy served in the US Army; he worked as a fabricator and welder for the Washington County Machine Shop and he loved to do carpentry work. Tommy was a loving father and grandfather and enjoyed spending time with his family.

Survivors are: his wife, Nancy Register Norwood of Sandersville; five children, Tommy C. Norwood, Jr., of Longwood FL, Stephanie Nichol (Pooya) Pakzadian of Castleberry FL, Jamie (Brandon) Williford of Sandersville, Michelle Cooper of Davisboro and Adam Cooper of Sandersville; eight grandchildren; three brothers, Jimmy (Sandra) Norwood, Timmy (Kenya) Norwood and Roger (Trina) Norwood all of Sandersville; and two sisters, Marsha (Tony) Smith of Sandersville and Kathy (Ricky) Thigpen of Milledgeville.

The family will be at the Norwood residence on Hwy. 88 and they will receive friends on Saturday from 4 to 6pm at the May and Smith Funeral Home in Sandersville.
