Tommy Clyde Rountree

Mr. Tommy Clyde Rountree, age 56, of Tennille died on Saturday, December 26, 2015, at the Washington County Regional Medical Center.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, December 29 in the First Church of the Nazarene in Sandersville with burial in the Zeta Cemetery in Tennille. Reverend Danny Thomas, Reverend Lamar Brantley and Reverend Frank Appel will officiate.

Pallbearers will be Daniel Collins, Corey Thomas, Hugh Adams, Cecil Davis, Wayne Williford, Jason Vickery, Ray Pierce, Eric Smith and Nick Pulliam.

Mr. Rountree was a native and lifelong resident of Washington County, the son of the late James McKinley Rountree and the late Ora Clyde Warren Rountree. He was a graduate of Washington County High School class of 1978. Mr. Rountree was the owner and operator of Tommy's Paint and Body Shop. He was a member of the First Church of the Nazarene in Sandersville. Mr. Rountree coached baseball for the Washington County Recreational Department for thirty years.

Survivors are: his wife, Susie M. Rountree of Tennille; a daughter, Dana Rountree of Nashville, TN; two sons, Brian Rountree and his wife Anna of Sandersville and Jamie Rountree and his wife Kaci of Dry Branch; three grandchildren, Christian Rountree, Conner Rountree and Bryson Rountree; a sister, Pattie Bradley of Sandersville; three brothers, Danny Rountree and his wife Patti of Tennille, Paul Rountree and his wife Marsha of Sandersville, and Scott Rountree and his wife Pam of Tennille.

The family would like to thank the staff at University Hospital Heart and Vascular Tower in Augusta, and the ER staff at Washington County Regional Medical Center for their care and concern for Tommy.

The family will receive friends at May and Smith Funeral Home in Sandersville from 5:00 until 7:00 P.M. on Monday.
