Tony M. Martin

Mr. Tony M. Martin, age 48, of Tennille, passed away on Monday, November 11, 2013. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, November 14th, at 2:00 p.m. at the May and Smith Funeral Home Chapel with burial in the Zeta Cemetery in Tennille. The Reverend Wallace Smith will officiate. Pallbearers will be Terry O’Quinn, Raymond Pounds, Sylvester Sweat, Glenn Phillips, Fred Rymer, Robby Cantrell and Thomas Smith.


Tony was born in Augusta Georgia the son of the late Vivian Faye Jenkins Martin. He was a lifelong resident of Washington County and worked as a mechanic and as a painter. Tony was a man that cared for many people and would help anyone he could. He was preceded in death by his wife, Donna Byrnes Martin.


Survivors are his father, Ellis Martin and his wife Susan of Sparta; brothers, Stevie Martin, Sr. and his wife Robin of Tennille and David Tousiant of Harrison; daughters, Reagan Sanner and Julie Bridges both of Sandersville; grandchildren, Andrew Jordan, Kerrianna Hatcher, Kierra Jordan, Sierra Jordan, Jania Bridges and Kayla Bridges; a great-grandson Gavyn Hart Cantrell; his sister-in-law Barbra B. Veal; and her husband Alex; and nieces and nephews.


The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the May and Smith Funeral Home in Sandersville.
