Van B. Dollar Sr.

Mr. Van Bunion Dollar Sr. age 87, of Sandersville, died Sunday, February 01, 2009. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday February 4th at 11:00am at the First Baptist Church of Sandersville with burial in Brownwood Cemetery. Rev. Dewey Henderson, Rev. J. Emory Lindsey and Rev. Lee Lacey will officiate. Pallbearers will be Michael Binninger, Shawn Hall, Mel Daniel, Michael Dollar, Kenny Moye and Walker Maze.

Mr. Dollar was born in Washington County the son of the late Owen Van Dollar and the late Bessie Johnson Dollar. He was the owner and operator of Van Dollar General Contractors and a member of the First Baptist Church of Sandersville. Mr. Dollar was an Army Veteran of WWII and was a 60 year member of the American Legion.

Survivors are his wife Frances Daniel Dollar of Sandersville, son Van B. Dollar Jr. (Jan) of Norcross, grandchildren Chris Dollar (Leanne), Daniel Dollar, David Dollar all of Sandersville and Kayse Richards of Norcross one great grandson Kaden Dollar and a special niece Vicki Hall of Marietta.

The family will be at the Dollar residence 426 Morningside Dr. Sandersville and will receive friends Tuesday, from 5 to 7pm at the May and Smith Funeral Directors, 1119 Riddleville Road, Sandersville.
