Varnie Morris Johnson

Mrs. Varnie Dell Morris Johnson, age 93, of Harrison, died on Wednesday, March 1, 2017, at her residence following an extended illness. Graveside funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Friday, March 3, 2017 in Zeta Cemetery in Tennille. Reverend Danny Thomas will officiate.

Mrs. Johnson was a native and lifelong resident of Washington County, the daughter of the late Harley Allen Morris and the late Mattie Meeks Morris. She was preceded in death by her husband, Hubert Lamar Johnson and sons, Lamar Johnson and Floyd Johnson. Mrs. Johnson was a member of the Tennille Church of God and attended the First Church of the Nazarene. She was a homemaker.

Survivors are: her grandchildren; Merle Johnson and his wife Debby of Eastman, Greg Johnson of Eastman, Cecil Johnson and his wife Jan of Eastman, Delorise Knight and her husband Jeremy of Harrison, Allen Johnson of Pennsylvania and Eric Johnson and his wife Leslie of Harrison; sixteen great grandchildren; eight great great grandchildren; two sisters, Thelma Oliver and her husband Fern of Macon and Louella Alley of Conyers.

The family will receive friends at May and Smith Funeral Home in Sandersville from 11:00 A. M. until 12 noon on Friday.
