Mrs. Vera Dixon Fowler, age 90, of 3807 Wilson Road in Davisboro died Thursday January 1 in the Washington County Regional Medical Center in Sandersville. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Sunday January 4 in the May and Smith Funeral Home Chapel in Sandersville. The Rev. Jim Dunn and Rev. Danny Thomas will officiate with burial in the Zeta Cemetery in Tennille.

Mrs. Fowler was a native of Johnson County, Georgia, the daughter of the late Wiley G. Dixon and the late Ella Thompson Dixon. She was a retired nurse with Central State Hospital. Mrs. Fowler had
previously worked with Holmes Canning Company, the Studdard Company and the Rawlings Hospital. She was a member of the Shurlington Baptist Church in Macon. She was predeceased by a daughter, Edna Askew Andrews and a grandson, Jeffery Askew.

Survivors are her children, Betty Askew Elrod of Tennille, William Winston Askew of Davisboro and Henry Grady Askew of Tennille, a brother, Ernest Dixon of Tennille, six grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.

The family will receive friends at May and Smith Funeral Home in Sandersville from 4:00 until 6:00 P.M. on Saturday.
