Vestula Hyman Hattaway

February 28, 1917 — April 21, 2011

Mrs. Vestula Hyman Hattaway, age 94, of 7989 Shoals Road in Mitchell, Georgia died Thursday night April 21, 2011 in the Oconee Health Center following an extended illness. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Sunday 24 in the Mineral Springs Baptist Church near Hamburg. The Rev. Bill Seaman will officiate with burial in the Mineral Springs Church Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Jack Lewis, Barry Lewis, Daniel Lewis, Scott Lewis, Johnny Thigpen and Chris Roberts.

Mrs. Hattaway was a native of Warren County, Georgia, the daughter of the late John Aaron Hyman and the late Emma Jane Edwards Hyman. She was the wife of the late Nathaniel Hattaway. Mrs. Hattaway was a graduate of Warrenton High School Class of 1936. She was a member of the Sparta Home Demonstration Club and the Sparta Garden Club for many years. Mrs. Hattaway was a member of the Mineral Springs Baptist Church.

Survivors are a step daughter, Edith Hattaway Williams of Lady Lake, Fla., and several nieces and nephews.

The family requests donations be made to the Mineral Springs Baptist Church Cemetery Fund.
