Vick Jones

Mr. Addison Vickers “Vick” Jones III, age 67, of Yank Brown Road in Sandersville died Saturday, September 28, 2013. Graveside funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, October 1st, in the Zeta Cemetery in Tennille. Reverend Griffin Thompson and Reverend Dewey Henderson will officiate.


Mr. Jones was a native and lifelong resident of Washington County. He was retired as a maintenance employee for Imerys. Vick was an avid outdoorsman and loved to hunt, fish and garden. He was a US Air Force veteran. He is predeceased by his father A.V. Jones, Jr., his sister Dianne J. Thompson and his brother Tommy Jones.


Survivors include his mother, Ruth Smart Jones of Tennille; his brother, Carl H. Jones and his wife Iris of Martinez; a brother-in-law, Scott Thompson and his wife Kathleen of Deepstep; uncles, David Smart of Holly Hill SC, and Everett Smart and his wife Eleanor of Tennille; aunts, Sarah Fletcher and Margaret Fletcher both of Valdosta; nieces, Jennifer W. Jones of Evans and Shannon T. Epperson of Conway, AR; and a nephew, Steven Jones of Augusta.


The family will receive friends on Monday from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the May and Smith Funeral Home in Sandersville.
