Mrs. Virginia Davis Brooks, 95, of Davisboro, Georgia, entered into rest on Wednesday, May 26, 2021. Graveside funeral services will be held Saturday, May 29 th at 11:00 a.m. in the Davisboro City Cemetery. Reverend Larry Glover and Reverend Paul Harris will officiate.
Mrs. Brooks, affectionately known as “Nannie” by her grandchildren, was born in Washington County, the daughter of the late Louis Davis and the late Annie Lou Watkins Davis Brown. She was a dedicated wife of the late Lorick V. Brooks and mother to her three children, Brenda (David) Sims of Valdosta, Georgia, Byron (Sally) Brooks of Bartow, Georgia, and Lorick (Beth) Brooks of Evans, Georgia; five grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
She loved Davisboro and was a lifelong member of Davisboro Baptist Church where she served as a Sunday School teacher, a member of the Ladies Missionary Society and church choir. She was an avid gardener, ceramic artist, loved quilting and crocheting, and was known as a fabulous cook.
For the last twenty years, Virginia resided in the Augusta area, living in North Augusta and later in Evans. She attended First Baptist Church of North Augusta where she was an active member of the senior Choir and Missions Group.
The family wishes to express their sincere and their heartfelt appreciation for the loving care she received from the staff at Norwood Nursing Facility, Evans, Georgia, for the past 6+ years.
