Virginia Mathis Hodges

Mrs. Virginia Mathis Hodges, age 87, of Oconee died Thursday morning May 27 in the Tennille Assisted Living following an extended illness.

Graveside funeral services will be held at 3:00PM Friday, May 28, in the Bay Springs Cemetery near Oconee. The Rev. Ralph Lumley and Rev. Tom Sollosi will officiate.
Pallbearers will be Trey Price, Earl Hutto, Evan Hutto, Delma Godfrey, Matt Thurman and Tim Pierce.

Mrs. Hodges was a native of Johnson County, the daughter of the late Roy Allen Mathis and the late Zudie Cooper Mathis and the wife of the late Willie Ernest Hodges. She was a former employee of the Royal Manufacturing Company and a homemaker. She was a member of the Antioch Christian Church.

Survivors are her son, Eston Price, Jr. and his wife Ann of Claxton Georgia, two grandchildren, Holly Hutto and her husband Earl and Trey Price and his wife Jenny, four great grandchildren, Melissa, Evan, Anslee and Walter, three great great grandchildren, Kearstin, Landon and Peyton, a brother, Ray Mathis and his wife Evelyn of Sandersville, two sister in laws, Dorothy Mathis of Graniteville, SC and Earnestine Hodges of Oconee.

The Family will receive friends at the May & Smith Funeral Home in Sandersville from 1:00PM until 2:00PM on Friday preceding the service.
