Virginia James Phillips

Mrs. Virginia James Phillips, age 81, of Sandersville, died September 17, 2013. Funeral services will be held on Friday, September 20th, at 2:00 p.m. at the First Church of the Nazarene with burial in the Washington County Memorial Gardens. Reverend Danny Thomas, Reverend Jim Dunn and Reverend Gary Mimbs will officiate. Pallbearers will be Jerry Veal, Charles Smith, Walter Davis, Frank Hatcher, William Land and Larry Mathis. Honorary pallbearers will be members of The Christian Workers Sunday School Class.

Mrs. Phillips was born in Crisp County the daughter of the late Eddie William James and the late Annie Mae Thorpe James. She, along with her husband, was the former owner/operator of Phillips Service Center. Mrs. Phillips later worked as a store clerk for the Busy Bee convenient store for over 25 years. She was a member of First Church of the Nazarene and she is predeceased by her husband A. Lee Phillips and her daughter Lisa Phillips.

Survivors are her children, Gevernie P. Swint and her husband Larry of Sandersville and Tony Phillips of Macon; her grandson, Jamie Swint and his wife Monica of Sandersville; and three great- grandchildren Austin Swint, Matt Swint and Kristen Swint.

The family will receive friends on Friday from 1pm until the hour of service at the Church.
