Bruce Wilson, age 70, of Davisboro, passed away peacefully on Saturday, October 12, 2024. A grave side funeral service celebrating his life will be held on Wednesday, October 16th at 11:00 a.m. in the Davisboro City Cemetery. Reverend Mike Jones will officiate. Bruce's family will greet friends on Tuesday from 4:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m., at May and Smith Funeral Home in Sandersville.
Walter Bruce Wilson was born on December 7, 1953, son of the late James Keen Wilson Sr. and the late Julia McArthur Wilson. He grew up on his family's farm near Davisboro, where he began a lifelong passion of farming. He graduated from Brentwood School. He received an Associates degree from Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College and graduated Cum Laudie from the University of Georgia, also with a degree in Agriculture. Bruce quickly returned to his family farm where he remained for the rest of his working career. He possessed a love for any animal. He loved his home and enjoyed tending to his yards. Bruce was a lover of the outdoors and was known as a car enthusiast, meticulously maintaining his autos. He was a quiet, gentle and compassionate man.
Survivors include his loving wife of 31 years, Karen Coleman Wilson; siblings, James K. Wilson Jr. and his wife Mary Jean of Amelia Island, Florida and Martha W. Armstrong of Sandersville; longtime best friend, Steve Greenway.
