Walzine "Butch" Russell Jr.

Mr. Walzine “Butch” Russell Jr., age 71, of Harrison, died Friday, April 3, 2020. A private, family only graveside service will be held in Zeta Cemetery in Tennille with Reverend Danny Thomas officiating. Public viewing will be allowed on Monday between the hours of 2:00 p.m. and 4:00 p.m. at May and Smith Funeral Home in Sandersville in numbers of 10 or less at the time.

Mr. Russell was born and raised in Charleston, West Virginia the son of the late Walzine Russell Sr. and the late Betty Jane Price Russell. After high school, Butch served his country in US Army. He was self-employed as a brick mason and a member of the American Legion. Butch was a family man who cherished his children and grandchildren and loved teaching them. His memory will be cherished by many.

Survivors are his wife, Laura Hart Russell of Harrison; children, Nicole Doty of Orlando, FL., Walzine “Tim” Russell III, of Harrison, Michele R. Dickinson and her husband Arthur of Tennille, and Helena Russell also of Harrison; 18 grandchildren; 25 great grandchildren; and siblings, Barbara Davis of Charleston SC, Linda Adams and Thelma Adams both of California, and Sam Russell of Harrison.
