Ms. Wanda J. Durden, age 58, of Tennille passed away on Wednesday, April, 6, 2022 in a Savannah hospital following a brief illness. A service to celebrate her life will be held on Saturday, April 9, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. at Tennille Baptist Church. Reverend Brian Welch will officiate. Members of the Laurens County and Washington County NA and AA will sit as an honorary group.
Wanda was a native and lifelong resident of Washington County. She attended Washington County public schools and began her working career at the Sandersville Western Sizzling Steak House. Later, Wanda worked in retail for Friedman's Jewelers prior to Merle Norman. Lastly, she worked for H & R Block. Wanda’s life was centered around her five grandchildren. She loved being with family and supporting her grandchildren. Wanda loved arts and crafts and making wreaths. She was a people person and cherished time with family and friends. Wanda was a member of Tennille Baptist Church, and she was active with NA & AA which she considered as an extended family. Her father Marvin Johnson and her grandson, Brantley Mark Daniel, both predeceased her.
Ms. Durden is survived by daughters, Savannah Crawford Perkins and her husband Justin of Tennille and Jessica Crawford Daniel and her fiancé Natalie Lampert, of Kennesaw; grandchildren, Chance Canty, Cashton Canty, Payton Daniel, Kendall Daniel, Brooklyn Daniel and “baby to be” Sophie Piper Perkins; her beloved mother, Patsy S. Johnson of Tennille; siblings, Teresa J. Bridges and her husband John of Sandersville and Hunter Johnson and his wife Anne of Oconee.
The family will receive friends on Friday evening from 4:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. at May and Smith Funeral Home in Sandersville.
