Ms. Wanda Griswold Mathis, age 51, of Sandersville, died Thursday, May 14, 2015, at her residence following an extend illness. A graveside funeral service will be held on Monday, May 18th, at 2:00 p.m. at the Friendship Baptist Church Cemetery in Mitchell with Reverend Roy Smith officiating.
Ms. Mathis was born in Richmond County the daughter of the late Earl Raymond Griswold. She was a homemaker, a friend to many and a superb mother.
Survivors are her daughter, Samantha Mathis and her fiancée Johnathan Daniels of Sandersville; her mother, Betty Ann Smith of Tennille; grandchildren, Dwayne Lewis Mathis and Zoeria Faye Daniels; her sister, Wilma Ann Smith and friend Shannon Hudson; brothers, Wayne Johnson and his wife Emily and John Wright Smith and his wife Pam all of Sandersville; her nephew, Josh Price; and niece and great-nieces, Rachel Kicklighter and her husband Chad and Cathryn Kicklighter and Camryn Kicklighter; and a special friend, Donald Forbes.
The family will be at the home of Wayne and Emily Johnson on Evergreen Drive in Sandersville and they will receive friends Monday from 11:00 a.m. until Noon at the May and Smith Funeral Home in Sandersville.
