Wayne Allen Chalker

January 27, 1932 — April 10, 2017

Mr. Wayne Allen Chalker, age 85, of Mitchell, died on Monday, April 10, 2017, at his residence. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M., Thursday, April 13, 2017 at Mineral Springs Baptist Church with burial in the church cemetery. Reverend Bobby Hattaway and Reverend Burt Mauldin will officiate.

Pallbearers will be Don Roberson, Dean Roberson, Chris Rogers, David Chalker, Steven Parris, and Willie Ingram.

Mr. Chalker was a native of Washington County, Georgia, the son of the late Henty Cleon Chalker and the late Myrtle Amerson Chalker. He is preceded in death by his brother, Calvin Chalker. Mr. Chalker was a farmer and a retired mine superintendent for Kentucky Tennessee Clay. He was a member of Mineral Springs Baptist Church.

Survivors include: his sisters, Faye Chalker Roberson and Maye Chalker Rogers of Thomson; sister-in-law, Tommie D. Chalker of Tennille; nieces and nephews, Donna Ingram and David Chalker of Homestead, Fl., Donald Wayne Roberson of Mitchell, Jerry Dean Roberson of Bonaire, Chris Rogers and Ginger Faye Parris of Thomson; several great nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends at May and Smith Funeral Home in Sandersville from 6:00 until 8:00 P.M. on Wednesday. Donations may be made to Mineral Springs Baptist Church, c/o Janice Yarbrough, 165 Yarbrough Lane, Mitchell, Ga. 30820
