Wayne Smith

April 24, 1948 — November 18, 2010

Mr. Wayne Smith, age 62, of Sandersville, died Thursday, November 18, 2010 at his residence. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, at 2:00pm at the Kendall Heights Church of God with burial in the Zeta Cemetery in Tennille. Rev. Bobby Williford and Rev. Wallace Smith will officiate. Pallbearers will be Corey Blackmon, Rob Williams, T.J. Williams, Michael Nolan, Aaron Frost, Williams Smith, Alton Hooks and Rock Hooks.

Mr. Smith was born in Bleckley County the son of the late Hansel Harris Smith and the late Lottie Mae Maddox Hitchcock. He worked as a shift leader for Advanced Metal Components and attended the Kendall Heights Church of God. Wayne had a great love for his grandchildren and also for fishing.

Survivors are his wife Betty S. Smith of Sandersville, children, Robert Wayne Smith (Denise) of Cochran, Barbara Blackmon of Sandersville, Titia Blount and Tara Blount both of Kite, Chaughn Smith of Wrightsville and Tressi Usry (James) of Thomson, nine grandchildren, step children, Lynn Nolan Davis (Curtis) of Sandersville, Pam Nolan Hightower (Jeff) of Wrightsville, Tonya Nolan and Michael Nolan (Sabrina) both of Sandersville, 7 step grandchildren, bothers, Young Smith (Carolyn) of Chattanooga TN, Julian Hansel Smith (Patricia) of Wrightsville, Ivey Smith (Lois) and Kelly Smith (Brenda) both of Louisville KY, and his sister Lois Cramp of Melbourne FL.


The family will be at the Smith residence 293 N. Anderson Dr. Sandersville, and will receive friends Friday from 6 to 8pm at the May and Smith Funeral Home.

Donations may be made to the Kendall Heights Church of God building fund, 570 Wommack-Brantley Rd, Tennille, GA. 31089.

May and Smith Funeral Directors is in charge of these arrangements.
