Franklin Wendell Brown age 59 of Statesboro passed away on Thursday, September 9, 2021 at Augusta University Medical Center. A funeral service to celebrate his life will be held on Monday, September 13, 2021 at 2:00p.m. in Sister’s Baptist Church Cemetery. Reverend Tony Mimbs and Reverend Larry Glover will officiate.
Mr. Brown was born in Sandersville the son of the late Franklin Rembert Brown and Glenda Knight Brown. Wendell, as he preferred to be called, spent his working career as a welder, working for Great Dane in Statesboro. Wendell’s greatest joy in life was deer hunting. He is preceded in death by his wife, Donna Wells Brown.
Mr. Brown is survived by his mother, Glenda Knight Brown of Sandersville; brother Jimmy D. Brown and his wife Norma Jean of Sandersville; Nieces, Crystal B. Dollar and her husband David of Sandersville, and Jamie B. Cobb and her husband Daniel of Davisboro; uncle, Andrew Brown of Sandersville; great nieces Maxie Grace Dollar and Sophia Cobb; and great nephew Lawson Cobb.
The family will be meeting at the home of Jimmy and Norma Jean Brown, 330 Wild Horses Lane, Sandersville, Georgia 31082.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made in Wendell’s memory to the American Heart Association, P.O. Box 840692, Dallas, Texas 75284-0692.
