Whitney Allison Hill, age 32, passed away peacefully on Saturday, December 30 th , 2017 at her family home in Stockbridge.  She was born December 10 th , 1985, in Atlanta, to Randall W. Hill and Kathy Sheppard Hill.  Whitney was a 2004 graduate of Stockbridge High School.  She completed her BFA in Art at Valdosta State University in 2010 where she was a member of the Kappa Pi Art Honor Society.  Whitney concentrated her studies on ceramics, jewelry making, and photography.  She loved to throw pots and photograph abandoned buildings both inside and out.  She worked as an optician at Ansley Eye Care in Atlanta where, as she put it, she “gave people the gift of sight.”  Whitney enjoyed ballroom dancing, the house music of East Atlanta, and all things Parisian.  She spoke conversational French and could imitate a New York accent like none other.  Whitney fully embraced the “Inside The Perimeter” lifestyle and she could be relied on as a guide to Atlanta’s best restaurants and breweries.  She was a member of the Lutheran Church of the Redeemer.  Her Lutheran faith served as an inspiration to her and it is reflected in several of her most treasured artworks.  Whitney loved her friends and family dearly.

Survivors other than her parents include her sisters, Jennie Mae Hill Smith (Stephen) and Amanda Hill Irby (Richard); maternal grandparents, Malcolm and Clarie Sheppard of Sandersville; and niece, Georgia Mae Smith. Her paternal grandparents, Wayne C. Hill and Carolyn L. Hill of Brick Township, New Jersey, precede her in death.
