Will Westbrook

October 7, 1986 — August 9, 2017

William Allen “Will” Westbrook, age 30, of Columbus, formerly of Milledgeville, died on Wednesday, August 9, 2017.  A funeral service will be held on Saturday, August 12 th at 11:00 a.m. at First Baptist Church of Milledgeville, with burial at 3:00 p.m. in Brownwood Cemetery in Sandersville.  Reverend Jerry Bradley will officiate.

Pallbearers will be Eric Barnes, Michael Byrne, Paul Garland, Reid Johnson, Walt Nelson, and Ryan Westbrook.

Will was born in Bibb County, and raised in Baldwin County.  He was a graduate of John Milledge Academy where he played both football and baseball.  Will was also a graduate of Georgia College and State University with a Bachelor of Science in History and a Masters of Education.  He was employed by the Department of Juvenile Justice as a History Teacher.   Will was an avid golfer and loved to fish and hunt.  He is predeceased by his brother, Zachary Stephen Westbrook and his paternal grandfather, William Bobby Westbrook.

Survivors are: his parents, Steve and Lori May Westbrook of Milledgeville; maternal grandparents; Francis and Melba Josey May of Sandersville; paternal grandmother, Myra Byrnes Westbrook also of Sandersville; aunt, Marla W. Johnson of Sandersville; and uncles, Ken Westbrook and his wife Libby of Riddleville and Frank May and his wife Susan of Milledgeville.

The family will be at the Westbrook residence on Sparta Hwy. outside of Milledgeville and they will receive friends following the funeral service at First Baptist Church in Milledgeville and also at graveside committal service in Brownwood Cemetery in Sandersville.
