Willard Madison Renfroe Sr.

September 2, 1923 — March 27, 2010

Mr. Willard M. Renfroe Sr., age 86, of Sandersville, died Saturday, March 27, 2010 at the Washington County Extended Care Facility following an extended illness. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, April 1st, at 2:00pm at the Sandersville United Methodist Church with burial in Brownwood Cemetery. Rev. Mark Carter and Rev. Jimmy Cason will officiate. Pallbearers will be Jason Alexander, Dean McCaskell, Luke Renfroe, Jon Garrett, Randy Helton and Randy Mayberry. Honorary pallbearers will be the members of the Adult Fellowship Sunday School Class at Sandersville UMC.

Mr. Renfroe was born in Washington County the son of the late Turner R. Renfroe and the late Mattie Davis Renfroe. He worked for the State Fire Marshal’s Office as a fire safety compliance officer. Mr. Renfroe formerly worked for the Central of Georgia Railroad and also worked in the insurance business. He was the former owner of the Sandersville Bowling Alley and the Pastime Theater. He was a member of the Sandersville United Methodist Church where he served as a Sunday school teacher and a member of the Church Administrative Board. Mr. Renfroe was a Veteran of WWII serving in the South Pacific in the Army Air Corp. He is predeceased by his wife; June M. Renfroe, children Barbara R. Corbin and Willard M. Renfroe Jr., and siblings J.W. Renfroe, Curtis Renfroe, Mae Renfroe, Effie Renfroe, and Bernice Lariecy.

Survivors are; his daughter Sherrie G. Clark of Kennesaw, grandchildren, Eric Lewis, Jon Garrett, Kimberly Botterbush, Greg Hutchins, Chris Hutchins and Luke Renfroe, five great grandchildren and his sister Lucille R. Brooks of Davisboro.

Visitation will be held Wednesday from 5 to 7pm at the May and Smith Funeral Home in Sandersville.

Donations may be made to the Sandersville United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 611, Sandersville, GA. 31082.
