Mr. William Arthur Kerrigan, Sr., “Bill”, age 65 of Sandersville, went home to be with Jesus on Sunday, May 26, 2024, following a courageous battle with cancer. A celebration of life service will be held on Saturday, July 20th, 2024, at 12:00 p.m. at May and Smith Funeral Home Chapel. The family will receive friends prior to the service at the funeral home from 11:00 a.m. until the hour of service. Following the service, the family will host a luncheon. Details to follow.
Bill was born in Brooklyn, New York, the son of the late William Howard Kerrigan and Lillian Meserole. He grew up on Long Island and was a competitive gymnast and wrestler in high school. After high school he found his passion in the machinist trade, becoming a 1st class machinist for over 25 years. After that, he pursued many business ventures through the years in New York and Florida. Bill was a very loving and caring man. He was an avid weight lifter, and an American history buff, who loved nature. He was a family man who deeply loved his family and considered his family his greatest accomplishment in his life. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his sister, Karen Blair.
Bill is survived by his loving wife of 34 years, Ellen Stubbs Kerrigan; daughter, Noelle Kerrigan and her husband Benjamin Alongi of Manchester, Tennessee; sons, Ryan Kerrigan of Sandersville, Eugene Kerrigan of Cape Coral, Florida, and William Arthur Kerrigan, Jr., also of Sandersville; granddaughter, Quinn Alongi; brother, Kevin Kerrigan of Mesa, Arizona; and many nieces and nephews.
