William "Bill" Albert Wiggins

Mr. William “Bill” Albert Wiggins, age 73, of Washington Avenue in Sandersville, died Thursday, September 18, 2014, at the University Hospital following an extended illness. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, September 20th, at 11:00 a.m. at the Piney Mount United Methodist Church with military honors. The Reverends Jim Dominey and Robert Wood will officiate. Graveside committal services will be held on Monday, September 22nd, at 11:00 a.m. at the Georgia Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Milledgeville.

Mr. Wiggins was born in Toccoa, the son of the late Mary Ann Tuggle Wiggins and the late William Harold Wiggins. He was a U.S. Army Veteran who served his country for 20 years, including tours in Korea and Vietnam. Following his military career, Mr. Wiggins spent 25 years in law enforcement in Clayton County where he was a longtime resident.

Survivors are his children, Crystal Kitchens and her husband Jim, of Sandersville, Lynn Wiggins of Gainesville, Pennie Gable and her husband Mark of Nashville, TN, Amanda Gibson and her husband Shawn of Suffolk, VA, and Melanie Johnston and her husband Clay of Waco TX; grandchildren, Tyler Gable and his wife Lauren, Aliyah Noriega, Morgan Tingle and her husband Jared, Ashlie Gibson and her wife Adi, Courtney Gable, Mahalie Johnston and Maya Johnston; great grandchildren, Shawn Noriega, Baylee Noriega, Bailie Tingle, and Mason Gable; his sister, Anita Davis and brother-in-law Jim “Bud” Davis; and beloved friend and caregiver, Wilhelmenia Gindraw.

The family will be at the residence of Jim and Crystal Kitchens at 9586 Highway 88 in Sandersville and they will receive friends on Saturday before the funeral service from 10:00 to 11:00 AM at the Piney Mount United Methodist Church.
