William F. "Beaver" May

Mr. William F. “Beaver” May, age 71 of Sandersville, passed away on Thursday, April 3, 2025, at Washington County Regional Medical Center following an extended illness. A graveside funeral service to celebrate his life will be held on Tuesday, April 8, 2025, at 1:00 p.m. in Sister’s Baptist Church Cemetery. Reverend Danny Thomas will officiate, and the family will receive friends following the service at the cemetery.

Mr. May was a lifelong resident of Washington County, the son of the late Frank and Faye Allen May. He spent his working career as an equipment operator for Imery’s, a job that he loved very much. In his free time, Mr. May enjoyed cutting firewood and being outdoors. He was a genuine “people person,” and would wave at everyone he met while driving. Mr. May was a wonderful father, husband and provider and he loved his children very much. He was of the Baptist faith. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brother, Steve May.

Mr. May is survived by his daughter, Katie May of Cincinnati, OH; son, Greg May and his wife Kelsey of Sandersville; grandson, Sammi May; sister, Susie May Andrews of Tennille; mother of his children, Pat May of Sandersville; sister-in-law, Brenda May, also of Sandersville; as well as many other family and friends.
