William "Bill" E. Garrett Iii

Riddleville

William E. “Bill” Garrett III, age 66, of Bartow, died Monday, August 31, 2015 at the Washington County Regional Medical Center following an extended illness.

A graveside funeral service will be held on Friday, September 4th at 2:00 p.m. in the Riddleville Cemetery with Reverends Daniel Porter and Marty Deal officiating.

Pallbearers will be Justin Garrett, Austin Garrett, Trey Garrett, Colton Price and Leon Murphy.

Bill was a native and lifelong resident of Washington County the son of the late William E. Garrett Jr. and the late Vivian Lord Garrett. He spent his working career in the Kaolin Industry beginning work with Anglo American Clays and retiring from the J.M. Huber Company in maintenance after 31 years. In retirement Bill worked for the Washington County Machine Shop. He was a member of the Riddleville Baptist Church and was a former Riddleville Volunteer Fireman. Bill was an Army Veteran serving during Vietnam.

Survivors include: his wife, Elizabeth Harrell Garrett of Bartow; children, Scotty E. Garrett and his wife Susan of Riddleville, Jennifer G. Price and her husband Joel of East Dublin, and Robert W. Garrett and his wife Jamie of Davisboro; grandchildren, Justin Garrett, Austin Garrett, Faith Garrett, Trey Garrett, Colton Price and Anna Leigh Price; his sister, Kathy G. Smith of Rockledge; and brothers, Monte Garrett and his wife Beverley, and Michael Garrett and his wife Sonya all of Dublin.

The family will be at the Garrett residence on Hwy. 242 and they will receive friends on Thursday from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at the May and Smith Funeral Home.

May and Smith Funeral Directors in Sandersville is in charge of the arrangements.
