William Leon Hindmon

William Leon Hindmon, age 73, of Eatonton, passed away on Tuesday, September 28, 2021. He was born in Atlanta, Georgia to the late James Leonard Hindmon and Lucretia Hindmon. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his sister, Lucretia Vineyard and brother-in-law, John Honaker.

Leon was a graduate of Roosevelt High School as well as many trade schools. He volunteered as a Henry County Firefighter for 15 years, and was a member of Ellenwood Baptist Church, Mount Vernon Baptist Church and Eagles Landing First Baptist Church.

Leon was the hard-working CEO of Mister Fix-It HVAC. He enjoyed rides through the beautiful countryside, boat rides and fishing on Lake Sinclair and giving free advice to anyone who would listen. He will be greatly missed by his wife, children, grandchildren,  nieces and nephews as well as many co-workers and good old boys out there.

Mr. Hindmon is survived by his wife of 51 years, Janice Mitchell Hindmon; children, Alison Leigh Hindmon of Smyrna GA, and James Eric (Andrea) Hindmon of Sandersville, GA; grandchildren, James Liam Hindmon, Eleanora  Joy Hindmon and Robert Jaxon Hindmon all of Sandersville GA; sisters,  Elizabeth Honaker of Green Bay WI, and Susan Caldwell of Red Wing MN; brothers-in-law, David (Candy) Mitchell of Oxford AL and Albert Vineyard of Albany GA.

The family will receive friends Saturday, October 2, 2021 from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm at Cannon Cleveland Funeral Directors. Funeral Services will be held at 3:00 pm on Sunday, October 3, 2021 at the funeral home with Pastor Howard Greer officiating. Interment will be at Westview Cemetery on Monday, October 4, 2021. In lieu of  flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Widows Fund at Eagles Landing First Baptist Church.
