Mr. William Carlton Lindsey, Sr., age 71, of Lake Oconee died Saturday, December 22, 2012 at the St. Mary’s Hospital in Athens following a brief illness. Funeral services will be held Monday, December 24th, at 2:00pm at the Riddleville Baptist Church with burial in the Riddleville Cemetery. The Rev. Wade Dawson will officiate.
Mr. Lindsey was a native of Washington County the son of the late Otis F. Lindsey Sr. and the late Thelma Price Lindsey. Carlton spent a career in the automotive repair business retiring as co-owner of the Sandy Springs Garage in Sandy Springs. He and Linda retired to Lake Oconee. Carlton enjoyed hunting and spending time with his family at his farm in Washington County and he was a member of the Riddleville Baptist Church.
Survivors are: his wife, Linda Ann Amos Lindsey of Lake Oconee; children, William C. “Buddy” (Sheila) Lindsey, Jr. of Wilmington NC, Kimberly L. (Richard) Stamper of Norcross and Kevin A. (Laura) Lindsey of Canton; grandchildren, Elizabeth Allen, Lindsey Stamper, Bennett Stamper, Stewart Stamper, Halle Lindsey and Emma Lindsey; brothers, James T. Lindsey of Marietta and Harry C. Lindsey (Renny) of Riddleville; and his sister Marianne L. Junger of McDonough.
The family will receive friends on Sunday from 5 to 7pm at the May and Smith Funeral Home in Sandersville.
