William Lester Sheppard

Mr. William Lester Sheppard, age 66, of Davisboro, passed away on Monday, May 29, 2023, after a brave battle with cancer. A memorial service to celebrate his life will be held by his family at a later date.

Mr. Sheppard was born in Sandersville, the son of Lester E. Sheppard, Jr. and the late Carolyn Pate Sheppard. William was a 1977 graduate of Tucker High School. After graduation he attended the University of Georgia and obtained his associate degree from ABAC. William was a hairdresser by trade. He loved to hunt and fish but he also thoroughly enjoyed teaching others to do so. William was very athletic and excelled in various sports, including golf, tennis, and football. He was an avid Georgia Bulldogs fan. Above all else he adored his granddaughters.

Mr. Sheppard is survived by his loving wife of 23 years, Maria Perez; father, Lester E. Sheppard, Jr., and his wife Peachie of Greensboro; son, Pate M. Sheppard and his wife Brionna of Jefferson; granddaughters, Harper Ann, Raylan, and Blake; sister, Christy Little and her husband Andy of Greensboro; uncle, Billy Pate and his wife Judy of Davisboro; and many cousins and friends.
