William David Smith

January 18, 1960 — April 23, 2019

Mr. William David Smith, age 59, of Tennille, died on Tuesday, April 23, 2019 in a Dublin hospital following a brief illness. Funeral services will be held at 2:00   p.m. Friday, April 26 in May and Smith Funeral Home Chapel in Sandersville.  Elder Kenneth Brantley will officiate.  Burial will be private for family only.

Mr. Smith was a native and lifelong resident of Washington County, the son of the late David Leon Smith.  He was a retired heavy equipment operator for Imerys Kaolin Company.  He was a member of Tennille Methodist Church.

Survivors are his daughter, Carmen Jade Masry and her husband Ramy of Statesboro; mother, Patricia Holton Smith of Tennille; grandchildren, Lenox Masry, Luca Masry, and Stella Masry; sisters, Patti Smith Harris and her husband Michael of Deepstep and Sheri Smith Clements and her husband John of Sandersville; brother, Charles Keith Smith of Sandersville; several nieces and nephews; and close friend, Waymond Sterling Boyer and his wife Vonnie of Sandersville.

The family suggest donations be made to the Zeta Cemetery Trust Fund, P. O. Box 1, Tennille, Georgia 31089 or to the American Cancer Society, South Atlantic Division, 2607 Commons Blvd., Augusta, Ga. 30909.

The family will greet friends at the funeral home prior to and after the service.
