William Hoyt Whisenhunt, Sr.

Mr. William Hoyt Whisenhunt, Sr., age 66, of 10044 Highway 242 in Riddleville died Monday, September 3, 2012, at his residence on Lake Sinclair. A visitation will be held at May and Smith Funeral Home in Sandersville on Tuesday evening, September 4th, from 5:00 until 7:00 P.M.

On Wednesday evening, September 5th, a visitation will be held from 5:00 until 7:00 P.M. at the Claude McKibben Funeral Home in Hogansville, Georgia. A funeral service will be held at 1:00 P.M. Thursday, September 6th, in the Chapel of the Claude McKibben Funeral Home in Hogansville with burial in the Oak Hill Cemetery in Newnan, Georgia.

Mr. Whisenhunt was a native of Meriwether County, Georgia, the son of the late Henry Wayne Whisenhunt and the late Eunice Lenora Latimer Whisenhunt. He was preceded in death by a son, William Hoyt Whisenhunt, Jr. Mr. Whisenhunt built and managed Cross Ties in Sandersville; and he was a sawmill builder and a maintenance contractor. Mr. Whisenhunt was a talented man who also built houses, sea walls and docks.

Survivors are his wife: Sheila M. Whisenhunt of Riddleville; a son, Wade Whisenhunt of Bowden; a daughter, Dee Whisenhunt of Buchanan; five grandchildren and a great-granddaughter; three sisters, Hazel W. Burks of Grantville, Cookie W. Helton of Hogansville, and Vassie W. Roberts of Ft. Pierce, FL; and a brother, Adam Whisenhunt of Carrollton.
