Willie Ruth Phillips Hooks

Mrs. Willie Ruth Phillips Hooks, age 87,  of Tennille passed away on Monday, April 25, 2022 at Heritage Inn of Sandersville. A graveside funeral service to celebrate her life will be held on Wednesday, April 27, 2022 at 2:00 p.m. in Brownwood Cemetery in Sandersville. Reverend Lamar Brantley and Dianne Marshall will officiate.

Mrs. Hooks was born in Sandersville, the daughter of the late William “Bill” Alfred Phillips and the late Frances Ruth Porter. She married Allen Benion Hooks on December 25, 1954 and they shared 60 years of happiness before his passing in 2015. Mrs. Hooks spent most of her working career as a salesclerk for various companies in the county. She enjoyed fishing, but her passion in life was spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She also cherished the time she spent with her sister, Dianne, which included breakfast at McDonalds and exercising at Wellness Works. In addition to her husband and parents, Mrs. Hooks is preceded in death by her siblings, Mary P. Edmondson, Thomas Eugene “Fat” Phillips, and Albert Phillips.

Mrs. Hooks is survived by her children, Cheryl Hooks Poole (Wayne) and David Allen Hooks (Susan) both of Tennille; grandchildren, Raven Poole Smith (Brian), Kelly Hooks Bianco, Eric Wayne Poole, Bryan Allen Hooks (Ashley), Gannon Snell (Cathy) and Rob Snell (Sherri); great grandchildren, Peyton Poole, Laney Poole, Colton Smith, Brody Smith, Emily Bianco, Matthew Bianco, Seth Bianco, Channon Hooks, Bryanna Hooks, Jacey Snell, and Barrett Snell; sister, Dianne P. Marshall of Sandersville; and many nieces and nephews.
