Riddleville

Mr. Wilmer Gene Jackson, Sr. age 81, of Riddleville died on Thursday, January 5, 2017, in an Augusta hospital.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Monday, January 9 at New Bethel Baptist Church near Riddleville with burial in the New Bethel Church Cemetery.  Reverend M. D. Cabe, Reverend Marty Deal and Reverend Danny Thomas will officiate.

Pallbearers will be Bill Jackson, Jr., Chance Jackson, Eddie Harris, Keith Jones, Jordan Hooks, John Dalton, Bill Frost, and Donald Farmer

Mr. Jackson was a native of Washington County, the son of the late Taylor Lee Jackson and the late Mildred Frost Jackson.  He was preceded in death by two sisters, Louise J. Leverett and Ruby J. Mimbs and a brother, Joe Jackson.  Mr. Jackson was a retired employee with Thiele Kaolin Company with 28 years of service.  He was a member and Deacon of the New Bethel Baptist Church.  Mr. Jackson was a member of the Georgia Cattleman's Association and had served in the Georgia National Guard.

Survivors include: his wife , Jennie Lou Jackson of Riddleville; daughter, Kathy Jackson Brooks and her husband James of Sandersville;  son, Gene Jackson, Jr. and his wife Cindy of Riddleville; four grandchildren, Kyle G. Brooks and his wife Meagan, Kaitlyn L. Brooks, Ethan G. Jackson and Amanda C. Jackson; three sisters, Ann J. Jones of Riddleville, Sandra J. Smith and her husband Randy of Tennille and Brenda J. Taylor and her husband Robert of Hampton; two brothers, William R. "Bill" Jackson and his wife Jeanette of Sandersville and Russell Jackson and his wife Doris of Guyton.

The family will receive friends at May and Smith Funeral Home in Sandersville from 4:00 until 6:00 P.M. on Sunday. Donations may be made to New Bethel Baptist Church c/o Heather Frazier, 3497 New Bethel Road, Bartow, Ga. 30413 or The Gideons, P.O. Box 891, Sandersville, Ga. 31082
