Wilmer "Buddy" Mason

Mr. Wilmer Gene “Buddy” Mason, age 67 of Tennille, passed away on Sunday, June 8, 2025, at Washington County Regional Medical Center following an extended illness. A graveside service to celebrate his life will be held on Thursday, June 12, 2025, at 1:00 p.m. in Zeta Cemetery with Reverend Bobby Williford officiating. The family will greet friends following the service in the cemetery.

Mr. Mason was a life-long resident of Washington County, the son of the late John Wilmer and Jewel Ellis Mason. He worked at Washington Manufacturing Company as a mechanic and operator. Mr. Mason was a jack-of-all trades and could do just about anything that he set his mind to accomplish. He had a green thumb and enjoyed fishing. In his younger days, Mr. Mason loved fast cars. Those who knew him best knew that he had a heart of gold, and would do anything for his friends and family without expecting anything in return. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Janet Kay Mason; daughters, Jamie Lynn and Angie Jean Mason; sister, Geraldine Mason Redding; and brothers, James, Donnie, and Gerald Mason.

Mr. Mason is survived by his son, Robbie Gene Mason; sister, Dorothy Mason Ward (Vonnie); brother Ronnie Mason (Shelia); and several grandchildren.
