Z. L. Mimbs

Mr. Z. L. Mimbs, age 80, of 5677 Highway 231 in Harrison died Tuesday October 26, 2010 in the Washington County Regional Medical Center. Funeral services will be held at 11:00AM Friday, October 29, in the First Church of the Nazarene with burial at 2:00PM Friday in the Bay Springs Baptist Church Cemetery, near Scott. The Rev. Danny Thomas will officiate. Pallbearers will be Michael Hall, Kevin Morris, Tim Beal, Greg Wiley, Ronnie Foskey, Mike Yates, and Roger Foskey.

Mr. Mimbs was a native of Johnson County, the son of the late Willie H. B. Mimbs and the late Willie Levada Dickens Mimbs. He was the husband of the late Jackie Bridges Mimbs. He was preceded in death by his brothers and sisters, Ralph Mimbs, Essie Mae Brantley, Eldred Mimbs, Jackie Garnto, Silas Thomas Mimbs and Iris Foskey. Mr. Mimbs was a retired truck driver and security guard for Howard Sheppard, Inc. He was a member of the First Church of the Nazarene.

Survivors are a son, Tony Lee Mimbs and his wife Cheryl of Sandersville, three grandchildren, Tory Mimbs, Tylan Mimbs and Tabitha Mimbs, two sisters, Annie Mimbs Robinson and her husband Loyce of Tennille and Ermie Mimbs Foskey of Tennille.

The family suggests that donations be made to the JELO Building Fund in care of the First Church of the Nazarene, P. O. Box 801, Sandersville, Georgia 31082.

The family will receive friends at the May and Smith Funeral Home in Sandersville from 5:00PM until 7:00PM on Thursday.
