Zachary Thomas Hart

Zachary Thomas Hart, age 27, of Tennille, died Thursday, August 4, 2016, at Piedmont Hospital in Atlanta. A funeral service will be held on Sunday, August 7, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. at the Mt. Gilead Primitive Baptist Church South of Tennille with burial in the Church Cemetery. Elder Kenneth Brantley will officiate. Pallbearers will be Jonathan Brantley, David Brantley, Brandon Chaney, Daniel Hall, Clint Hall, William Hall, Wade Holland, Tristan Smith, Chris Smith, John Taylor, and Lee Williamson.

Zachary was born in Baldwin County and reared in Washington County. He was a graduate of Brentwood School and Georgia State College and University where he was a charter member of the local chapter of Delta Sigma Phi Fraternity. He was currently enrolled in the Mortuary Science Department of Ogeechee Technical College. Zachary served as a registered funeral apprentice and as office manager for May and Smith Funeral Directors. He was a lifelong and active member of Mt. Gilead Primitive Baptist Church where he led congregational singing and enjoyed sacred harp music. Zachary was a servant in every sense of the word. He served others in his profession, his family, his church and church family. Above all he served the Lord.

Survivors include: his mother, Rebecca Dukes Hart of Tennille; sisters, Misty G. Ivey and her husband Nick of Kite, Kristy G. Baldwin and her husband Matt of Sylvania AL., and Brandi Hart of Ft. Payne AL.; his grandmother, Mary Miller Dukes of Wadley; and nephews, Eli Baldwin, Gabriel Hart, Krease Baldwin, Ryan Ivey, and John Thomas Ivey.

The family will receive friends on Saturday from 4:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. at the May and Smith Funeral Home in Sandersville.
