Funeral Services for Zelma Marie Moye Maddox, age 95, will be held at 11:00 A.M. Saturday, March 2, 2024, in the Richard N. Stanley, Jr. Memorial Chapel at Stanley Funeral Home and Crematory/Wrightsville Chapel, with burial to follow at Westview Cemetery. Rev. Lowery Brantley will officiate.
Mrs. Maddox was born on July 23, 1928, in Wrightsville, Georgia. In her earlier years she worked for Southern Bell and was a homemaker. She was a member of the First Christian Church of Wrightsville. She loved her family and looked forward to all the get-togethers each year. She was preceded in death by her parents, Ralston Hodges Moye and Tossie Brantley Moye; her husband of 54 years, Robert Lonell Maddox; daughter, Robin Maddox McCorkle; and son-in-law, John Dean McCaskill, Sr. Mrs. Maddox passed away on Thursday, February 29, 2024, at her daughter’s residence.
She is survived by her daughter, Yvonne McCaskill of Sandersville; son in law, Joey McCorkle (Donna) of Hinesville; grandchildren, John Dean McCaskill, Jr. (Tracey) of Tifton, Carey Morris McCaskill (Laurie) of Sandersville, Joseph Logan McCorkle (Olivia) of Ludowici, and Brantley Lewis McCorkle of Statesboro; great grandchildren, Lynsie McCaskill Denny (Casey) of Enigma, Emily McCaskill Carver (Tyler) of Tifton, Samuel Dean McCaskill (Alyssa) of Sandersville, Jordan Scott McCaskill of Sandersville, Elijah John McCaskill of Sandersville, and Elizabeth Leoan McCorkle of Ludowici; great-great grandchildren, John Parker Carver and Greyson Andrew Carver; and her chihuahua and constant companion, Bruiser.
The family will receive friends from 10:00 A.M. until 11:00 A.M. Saturday, March 2, 2024, at the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be Joey McCorkle, Logan McCorkle, Brantley McCorkle, Samuel McCaskill, Jordan McCaskill and Elijah McCaskill.
